Artist, Designer, and Teacher
Throughout my education at Columbus College of Art and Design, I was always trying to find a niche. Some small section of the art world that I belonged in. At points of my life I have felt that I belonged in corporate illustration, painting, pattern design, or printmaking, but at the heart of it all... I simply love to create! Seriously, I LOVE MAKING THINGS! I'm all about the process, and since graduating I have become a special education paraprofessional, to help teach others the processes of life. I hope to one day earn my teaching license and become an art teacher, although who knows.. but for now this is my niche of life.

Alice and Florence, an original work of mine done in watercolors and colored pencil, is a sample of one of my favorite styles to work in. I love the homey-ness of this "old" children's book illustration style. I took heavy inspiration from books like Peter Rabbit, Wind in the Willows, Frog and Toad, and many others. This, although one of my personal favorites, is only one in a large, growing heap of work... that I am always looking for an excuse to contribute to.
Have a project in mind? Let's find out what that could look like together!

I am a part of FIRST Robotics Challenge Team 1317 Digital Fusion. Digital Fusion is a community based High School robotics team that offers the opportunity to those students who do not attend a school that is already associated with a team.

Over the years my relationship with the team has changed and developed. My family has been with Digital Fusion for over a decade. I participated in FIRST FRC with the team for two years as part of our apprentice program to train up future members, and then all four years of High School. Now, in my role as a mentor, I particularly enjoy watching the students learn and grow.

Our team uses a six step design process to help the students first think through the best course of action, come up with ideas, test those ideas, ideate, and then circle back to the drawing board! Teaching objective decision-making is a big part of the job, as well as core teamwork skills when under a tight deadline.

As a student I never messed with the computer, but as a mentor I tried new things. Now I find myself helping with the programming side of things more often than not. It has been a great lesson in programming for me! Although, I think my greatest strength is redirecting the class back to the task at hand!

During my time on the team, I spent a good portion putting together the chassis of the robot. In other words, I might be a bit of a wheels specialist. Over the years we used just about every kind, and now the students have elevated the design to be more complex than ever before.
